A couple aged 68 and 71 have been sentenced to 8 months in prison by the judge in Málaga for poisoning their neighbour's 8 cats. The judge considered it proven that the elderly couple threw balls of raw meat with poison in them into the cats' garden, after which they quickly eat the poisoned food so that five cats died and three cats will have to take medication for the rest of their lives.
The judge imposed eight months in prison for the husband and wife for intentionally poisoning eight cats and killing five of them. Thanks to quick intervention by the owner of the cats, three cats could be saved but they will have to live the rest of their lives on a strict diet and take special medicines
